I looooooove taking pictures. Of everything. Big things, funny things, pretty things, silly things, etc. A photo has a way of capturing a moment in time that you're never gonna get back. And I don't mean that in a harsh way. You may not be able to go back to that certain time but its the memory that makes it real to you. Memories are the ABSOLUTE BEST. Especially the good ones. :) I find it so cool that everyone in the whole world has a different library of memories and ones that they hold dear to them. Even if two people are participating in the same event, they're both going to remember it differently. The best way for me to remember my memories is by looking back on old pictures I have taken. I publish all of my "creative work" on a website/app called VSCO. It is one of the best photo editing apps I've used for quick fixes and it also has amazing filters. Almost all of my friends are obsessed with it. Unlike Instagram, VSCO does not depend on likes are hashtags. Its not about popularity, its about the art. Now don't get me wrong I love uploading pictures so Instagram, but the pictures I post on that app are more for chronological purposes. I post to keep all my friends updated on things going on in my life. But there are always many different layers to a person. I'd like to think of instagram as kind of like my mask. Its the thing that I want people to see. I feel that VSCO showcases the real me. The things that I see through my own eyes, uncut and unedited (not literally tho). I don't post on VSCO because I want to get 200 plus likes. I post for me. Its one of the best ways I can comfortably express myself. And the best part is that I don't have to use a fancy DSLR camera. All of the photos on there were taken on my phone (iPhone 6). Not only do I like viewing my own profile but I like to view others. The app opens you up to many other profiles from around the world and its enthralling to be connected with others in that way. Anyway I put together a slideshow of some of my favorite pictures from my account that I think truly enrapture some of the beautiful things that I've on during my 16 years on this earth. xoxo Heavkinz P.S Feel free to check out my account by clicking on the link below :) VSCO

Let's just get right to the point. I'm not doing enough things with my time. I'm not playing any sports, I'm not participating in my school musical, I don't have a job, etc etc. And I think its having a big impact on my my mood and my drive. I do feel that people should relax every once in a while to take a break from things, but I also believe that keeping yourself occupied can keep your mind off of things. Its true about what is said about your junior year of high school: IT SUCKS Junior year is that little spot in the road that you see while driving and then don't realize its a giant buck until you've already hit it. :) There will be nights where you where you stay up until 2 because you procrastinated a paper, there will be many, and I mean MANY, breakdowns, you'll never get used to that lack of sleep, and the weekends will go by waaaaaaaay to quickly. At the beginning of the year you think you can handle it but my the time November rolls around you're regretting taking three AP classes, and sadly it gets worse. Now don't get me wrong I have very much enjoyed my third year of high school but it is the actual school part that has seemed to drain the life out of me every Monday through Friday from 7-2. I think after putting in all your effort for 10 years, your body and mind start to go crazy; especially when Junior year is considered the hardest year of high school. The increased amount of work plus the stress that comes from thinking about college, really takes its toll on a person. You have to think about what college, which major, which AP exam, when to take the SAT or ACT, what scholarships to apply for and so on. Not only do I have no clue what I wanna study in college/do with my life, I also have no clue what classes I want to take next year (the easy or the hard route), and I have to decided by the end of March :) Oh the joy. But the stress and loss of motivation needs to stop. I have noticed that everyday I come home from school and procrastinate my homework until around 7 o'clock to 11 o'clock at night. This is something very abnormal for me considering the fact that I used to refuse to do homework anytime after 9pm. I have no motivation and I think that this is seriously effecting my attitude about things. To help solve this problem I have put together a list of activities that I might take up to help address this problem. 1. Paint everyday for at least 30 minutes Sorry this is really short list but my goal at the end of this is to improve my overall mood (this sounds like a science project lol) and get the motivation back that I have lost throughout the course of junior year. Maybe this will be inspiration to some of you guys to start getting on the right track too. :))
Wish Me Luck, Heavkinz P.S I think my blog posts are a lot more fun when they feature a picture so here is a picture of my sister that I think accurately describes Junior Year. (thanks sis) I am a HUUUUUGE fan of music. It basically started from a really early age. I think I get it from my dad. He makes music in his at home recording studio and some of my earliest memories are of me sitting in his lap while he tapped out a beat on the keyboard. It was one of my favorite ways to fall asleep at night and my dad does the same thing with my younger brother to get him to fall asleep. My dad knows how to play a ton of instruments like the drums, the guitar, the piano, etc etc. And he currently teaches people how to play instruments at a music store. His dream was to become a famous music producer and although he isn't technically famous, he still does produce music in his free time. Along with witnessing my dad create music I have also spent some time in he recording studio. lol. When I was around 7 my cousin and I recored ourselves singing to all the current hip songs (mostly Hannah Montana and the Cheetah Girls). I still have the CD that we made. hahaha One of my favorite things to do before I go to bed is listen to music. It has a way of making so incredibly happy. I never pass up the opportunity to dance around my house when I'm home alone. :) I listen to a wide range of music, there really isn't a genre that I completely and totally love. I guess you could say my taste in music goes through phases. Sometimes I like indie, sometimes, rap, or country; depending on my mood. So I wanted to make a list of some of my favorite songs of all time that no matter what mood I am in, I can never turn down. My Favorite Songs |
